The Golden Age of Athens


A Golden Age was a time in a civilization when inventions, ideas and achievements in art and architecture were created. The Golden Age in Athens occurred from 477 B.C to 431 B.C. The ruler of Athens at this time was Pericles. Pericles had control of the Delian League, a league which controlled all the city states in Greece. He used the money from the Delian League to strengthen the Navy of Athens. He also used the money to beautify Athens.
